ACMA organizes events where children are given an opportunity to understand the relationship between different colors and the tones of sound and music.  They were each given paint, brushes and a canvas, and were asked to paint the music that they heard being played.  This helped the students notice the similarities between bright colors and bright sounds, cold colors and cold sounds, warm colors and warm sounds.  They noticed how the range of every instrument produces a different color, based on the instruments timbre.

In order to spread the magical rays of music, and the vibrant colors of art, we need to work together in inspiring our children and helping them notice once again the healing power of music, the beauty of paintings, and the importance of being culturally educated.

ACMA holds quarterly jury examinations, where the sutdents perform for all of the ACMA instructors, and are graded on their achievement, as well as artistic and technical abilites.  The students, depending on their level, have certain requirements and exercises that they have to perform, in order to pass to the next level.  The painting and artwork of the art students are also graded each quarter, and their artowrk is displayed during the semi-annual recitals.

Recitals reflect the achievement of the students as a musician and performer.  With the juror’s reccomendation, the student will be required to participate in at least one recital during the year.  The recitals are held semi-annually. The students of ACMA, in a very short time have been able to perform in recitals as instrumentalists, sing in the ACMA children’s choir, and attend concerts and events to develop their listening skills, and to constantly be involved in listening and understanding music.
The effects of music listening and music making have changed the many students’ abilities to think more critically, to listen more attentively, and to understand the form, shape and colors of music.
